My 14 is exactly like the ops. It rattles over bumps and is very loose at the rear passenger corner when jiggled by hand while closed. I haven't a chance to investigate it further but plan to mention it the next time it's due for service ... assuming I don't fix it myself first. I'd really rather they didn't rip apart my headliner and likely mangle a good deal of stuff.

We had rain today, so I decided to check for any leaks. And yes, it does leak when I go over the bumps. However, it does not leak too much, just a few drops....

Well that's not good ... guess I'll need to try the leak test.

Mine seems solid, haven't seen that issue. I did have the dealer replace the weatherstripping around it recently becuase of wind noise though...

Problem has been fixed. I decided to fix it myself.

I have no more leaks, and its dead silent now. It took me 15 mins and $9.00.

I bought the neoprene rubber self adhesive strip on Amazon.
Amazon.com: Neoprene Rubber self adhesive strip 3/8" wide x 1/16" thick x 33 feet long: Office Products Amazon.com: Neoprene Rubber self adhesive strip 3/8" wide x 1/16" thick x 33 feet long: Office Products

This is how I applied the strip,

There are no holes, because the neoprene rubber is spongy, so when you close the sunroof, it compresses under pressure. I went with 1/16" or 1.5mm strip, a thinner one could of worked as well.

The lid is still opening / closing and sitting properly.

So, I'm finally enjoying a rattle free ride

Nope my '13 does not do that. Snug as a bug. Sorry that happened to you...they can fix it though. I would only be concerned with the removal of the headliner. WIth side curtain airbags it's a pain. I'm in the business, I know all too well.

son of a.....
I checked mine and it moves on the passenger rear side.
I must admit, i hadnt noticed it before i read this thread.

This is the first car i've ever ordered/bought new, and i plan on driving it for at least 5-7 more years. (only have 8,500 miles on it now).

so the big question: do i let lexus "try" to fix it, get an extended warranty in case it ever gets worse, or just leave it alone?

No rattles or leaks that i know about.
