Default gs 350 awd right rear clunk when going over bumps...

hi there, it's now been just about 2 weeks with the new car - i love it! but i've noticed a few little things that i'll take it in for before the warranty runs out...one of them is a noticeable dull clunk in the right rear...it also hear it when i go over small the medium sized bumps on the left side...sway bar link? over big bumps i don't seem to hear it...

Interesting. I'm hearing something almost exactly like that from the left rear. I've had my car since it was new. Fortunately, it is a lease, and I'll be turning it in way before the warranty runs out.

I have the same issue with my 2013 AWD too. However, i'm lowered on a set of J5 coil overs. I'm wondering if the shocks are going bad?

i'm at 75K km...seems a bit soon no? also if you have the same issue and you're on coil over it would not be your shocks would it?

It could be. I'm at 35k and been on coils only for the last 5k. I doubt the shocks will go bad that fast but never know. I'm only lowered about 2" so it's not an extreme drop.
Although, unlike yours, I hear the clunk on big and little bumps.

Let me know what the dealer finds out for your car. thanks!

I have a RWD 2013 with the same clunk. The dealer always says it's junk in my trunk, which I removed 100% and it's still there.

Listening more closely, it seems to come from the sunroof assembly in the roof, above and behind my head. Haven't bothered the dealer about it again but it's annoying when it happens. I just turn the radio up and forget about it for another day.

Does is sound like a metal clunk?

I have a 2013 AWD and I can hear a noise coming from my headliner behind me but it doesn't happen all the time. It sounds plastic too. At first, I thought it was coming from the right rear suspension area but noticed it was coming from above and behind.

My sunroof also makes a creaking noise when it's hot out and I drive up an incline at an angle. Brought it to the dealer and they couldn't recreate the noise. They also said my car doesn't fall under the TSB for the sunroof pop noise for the early build models.

No, it's above it. I brought my car in for the aluminum door trim tsb and thought they might be able fix the creaking noise I get from the sun roof area when I turn into driveways. They couldn't replicate it and neither was I. It only happens when it's warm outside.

hi there, so i took my car to the dealership - they change the right rear shock and bushings and the sound is still there and very clear. this sounds like a silly question - but do these cars have rear strut mounts? or any other idea's? I'll be taking it in for the seat frame recall next week...

They do. There's a couple plastic clips that you remove and then you'll be able to pull aside the trunk interior liner in order to get to them.

So now they think it is the left shock...unreal. Im at the point where i just want this gone. My thoughts are something to do with the swaybar, upper shock mount or a bushing on one of the links?

Does anyone have a link to a good picture of the rear suspension?

Default Lexus noise from rear when hitting bumps rumbling noise.

Club Team, I have had this noise for a few months. I believe I found the issue on youtube. I going to buy sway-bar bushing for the back and change them myself and see if the noise goes away.

I had uneven wear on my passager back tire and the tech I talked to said it was my shocks. One was leaking so I purchase two off Rock Auto and changed them myself. I don't have any more uneven wear on my rear tire.
