Question from a Lexus newb: F-Sport AWD
Went into the Lexus dealer interested in a pre-owned low mileage IS or GS350 F-Sport (has to be AWD). Quickly eliminated the IS too difficult to get into and constraining in the cabin for a middle aged 6 2 driver. Took a 2013 GS FS out for a drive, and really liked it.
Was thinking about buying used or CPO to take off some depreciation. Wondering if thats the right strategy based upon the high prices of CPO/used vs. new models I have seen some posts in this forum saying they are getting new 2015 F-Sports for $47K whereas the 2013 model I tested was $38K.
In my area there is a used (not CPO) gray F-Sport AWD with the Premium, Cold Weather, Parking Assist, and Blind Spot Monitor that is being offered for $46K with about 10K miles on it. Assuming I was able to get this down to $42-$43K, is this a good deal? KBB says the out the door price for this is around $53K, but I am wondering if I can do better than that? Should I focus on trying to get a deal on a new model?

Agree with the previous poster - closer to 50k with AWD for an outgoing 2015 model.
You can snag a 2013 F-Sport GS for $30k-$35k depending on where you are. Just the other day, I saw a non-CPO 2013 AWD GS350 F Sport in White w/Flaxen advertised for $29,000 by Lexus of Bridgewater (in New Jersey). It had only 33k miles. Really low price, no accidents - it seemed like the story behind it was a lease return and they were trying to move it out of their inventory quickly - and boy did they...the following day the car was gone off their website and cars.com.
If you go the used route, waiting until next month or closer to the end of this month will cause a drop in price a little more in your favor for an almost new '15 or gently broken in '14. Good luck!

BTW, the F Sport at Bridgewater did in fact have an accident. The carfax said no accidents but the salesman stated the seller gave full disclosure and stated the car was in a minor accident. Once the salesman said that, I passed on the car.
