Well now it turns out that there are 2 versions of the pads. The high performance, dusty, noisy pad and the less dusty pad. Mine is dust galore!!!
This is exactly what I realized from reading the other post, also with what bclexus posted from the Porshe engineer. Also to be fair Im going to say that most brake pads do have some sort of squeak to them(especially after moisture build up), sometimes its not noticeable, sometimes it can drive you nuts.
In the end Brake pads come in 2 flavors-
Performance:
Softer, very dusty (arg!) with great bite to them, stop on a dime.
Durability:
Hard, minimal dust, no bite to them and hard to stop on slow speeds with squeaking noise.
I wish there was a way to get less dust, no noise and stops on a dime.

So from my understanding, the cars come with the dusty pads and if u complain they will replace it with the less dusty and less aggressive one.
Can u still complain when u have close to 20K miles? Maybe I'll try when I do my 20K service but they'll probably shut me down on the spot.
exactly what i did on my 3gs. actually the tech told me to keep driving the car more if i could bare with the dust. did that and got brand new pads and rotors turned for free with the tsb
