Default How effected is the 1/3 hood and fender plastic wrap

wondering how effective this seems for protecting your car. I have the 1/3 now and have been thinking of having the whole hood and fenders done, problem is that it is $1000 for 3m pro shield. Any thoughts are welcome.

thanks

Do the whole hood. 1/3 of the hood looks horrible and crap tends to get stuck at the edge. Also, i've heard there's better films than 3m. XPEL and Suntek are leading the race when it comes to film. I have Suntek on mine, obsidian black, at the recommendation of my detailer over xpel. Suntek was $100 less, but said the gloss factor on suntek is better for darker colored cars.

Thanks, second question my original choice. The car is Atomic Silver. I was wondering about the windshield.

It's worth the investment. They do windshields? I tinted mine.. didn't think you could do a PPF for the windshield

The front third of your hood takes most of the punishment so you'll probably be fine as it is.

IMO if I was leasing the car and turning it in at the end, I wouldn't bother spending the money for the full hood and fender wrap. If I own the car and plan on keeping it, then I'd take it into consideration.

For $1000 you can get the whole hood and front bumper repainted a few years after it gets chipped up.

The thing is that I've seen with some of these clear bra products is they start to discolor/crack/look like crap after a couple of years in the sun. Plus I don't know if you can get them off without damaging the paint underneath.

Either someone used an inferior product, or didn't know how to take care of their car....

You can take it off without damaging the paint and I would rather have clear bra then have to do a repaint

I did just the first third of my hood and fenders.
Have a company that knows what they are doing and use high quality film.
Also, learn how to properly care for your paint and you will never notice the Clear Bra.

I can still see the line on the bra. I bought mine from the dealer and it still shows on white. I'm just happy its got a long warranty life.
