To my eye the housing on the 2016 looks smaller due to the daytime running lights not contained in the headlight unit. I know this mod has been done in the past but that was a different front end.

 

Doesn't need to, the triple L LED's aren't new, but like someone else said, the '16's get a different headlight housing.

You could get a Japan-spec '13 set of these LED's for a few grand. It has been done.

I kinda hate the fact that the US doesn't get them across the board or as an advertised option. The RC F gets them and I'm pretty sure they'll be standard on the GS F also. Maybe they're using them as a marker to denote trim levels (i.e. normal RC's can't get them, only on the F).

 

Saw a 2016 f sport (non f) with the triple led headlights in person at Lexus of Honolulu.

 

I Know, I have the tripple LED units on my 450H F from the factory but I'm looking to swap out the front for the new one hence my question regarding fitment.
The new units are slimmer but overall the measurements including the DRL looks pretty much the same als the older units. I'm thinking they are one piece ( headlight and DRL ) and there's just a piece of plastic in between them.

 

Does NOT look compatible at all. Good luck.
