Default GS RWD Performence in snow

GS RWD do well in winter/snow? I read that RWD cars do very poorly in show.

It all depends on the driver, you can drive a RWD car in the snow turn on the snow button to help you. You still have to remember that its a RWD car and not to go overboard, guessing your worried about snow if so thats my answer. If your moving that's another story.

With snow tires you won't have any problems. I've driven my RWD in blizzard conditions, deep snows and never got stuck.

If you are planing on driving with summer tires, then it's a suicide.

Very true.
I had a set of Nokians on my 2002 IS300 and I ripped Vermont apart in the winter. Another group in an SUV (FX35 AWD)had trouble keeping up

I would advise using the summers, it'll be solid as a rock and your car will slide everywhere.

A lot of us have dealt with snow before AWD vehicles and traction aids became so common. You just have to be easy on the pedal and the brakes and know your limits.

Yep RWD cars do suck in the snow. If the GS is RWD and F Sport, it will have summer tires on it. So obviously it's going to be completely dangerous to attempt in the snow.

I'm in the same boat. RWD F Sport with Summer Tires. It snows here maybe once or twice a year so I hate to spend the money on winter tires for that. Should be interesting if it does snow. Can't be any worse than my S2000 with summer tires.

It's not just driving in snow with summer tires - it is driving at all with summer tires when the temperature is below 40 degrees, wet or dry. Below 40 degrees summer tires become extremely dangerous because the tire's pliable tread in warm weather becomes a hard, slick surface. So, if you like driving on tires with Formica-like traction, you're likely in for a damaging and costly experience.

I had an LS400 RWD car and it was great in the snow. My GS is awd but honestly if you drive carefully then you will be fine with any RWD car in the snow.

Sounds like the most cost effective route is to rent a 4WD the once or twice a year that it snows.
