Challenged a Genesis
I'm not sure if there is a more appropriate place for this post so I'll go ahead and just drop it here.
My co worker and buddy drives a 2011 Genesis and since I picked up my GS, I'd been egging him on when driving to / from work. We take the same route to the office and today he'd had enough of my smack talking so fast forward -- end of day arrives finally and open road ahead on the highway, he guns it from a 60-65 mph roll and I did as well (sport mode of course) and I kept up before he slowly walked away from me. The interesting second go round was when we hit a curve or bend and the GS hugged that corner beautifully at a high rate of speed, but I can tell my friend slowed down a bit going around it... All in all, I guess for a car with a 4.6 V8 and almost 100 more hp, the GS held its own.
Full disclosure: I used to own an '87 Buick grand national so I was accustomed to handing out beatdowns daily albeit those were always stoplight affairs.

So you egged him on? Why would you do that? Knowing that his car has a V8 with 100 more hp was not a smart gamble.

Yes, you're right but it was all in fun. I really wanted to see him get into it for once. That Genesis straight line acceleration was awesome. The GS was no slouch though especially around that slight curve..

Cool story ToddsLex78! I love how planted the GS feels in Sport+ (that adaptive suspension makes a big difference when you're pushing the car around bends!)
Thanks for sharing. Just remember to always be safe sir.
All the best,
