Just got my CPO 2013 GS 350 last month. Slowly trying to do a few upgrades. The next thing I wanted to do was see about replacing the fog lights to get some better LED ones that would also more closely match the HID headlights.

I have been looking for them on Amazon because I like being able to return them if they do not work with the Prime.

These are the two I have found.


Also found some at other sites that cost a bit more. Which doesn't bother me as long as they are really worth the extra money.

I have seen several people mention the beam pattern as well. Are any LED fog lights truly set up to replicate the normal beam patter of a fog light where it is wide and then?

I have used VLED H11 Bulbs (about $60 for the pair). They cast about the same amount of light on the road as the OEM but overall I think halogens and HIDs have the edge for true fog/inclement weather use over the cheaper LED options available as replacements (although some of the newer LEDs are closing the gap like the one's posted by fellow member GregCanada...they are pricey though!).

For a better match to your HIDS, you can always go with a HID Kit for your fogs. Otherwise, I recommend the VLED bulbs as they are running strong on my dad's '11 GS350 with no problems to date (http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/fog-l...16-1-pair.html).

Personally, I went with standard halogen yellow PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow fogs for that classic JDM look on my GS (and great performance in rain/snow).

+1 for the VLED H11s. I have them in my 2013 GS for about a year and they're pretty bright even though I think the Morimoto set up is better due to brightness and beam pattern...

I just replaced my fog light bulbs with the H11 / H8 / H16 PHILIPS X-TREME ULTINON LED FOG LIGHT BULBS. They make a huge difference. I like the look and they seem to throw more light as well.

So if I can get the H11 / H8 / H16 PHILIPS X-TREME ULTINON LED FOG LIGHT BULBS for $99 would you recommend that or are the Morimoto XB LED Fog lights at $170 that much better?

Be careful with these, I used Nokya 55w halogen amber lights in my 3GS fogs and one of my stock wires and the harness melted and the ones I used were not advertised as "100W at 55W).

Thanks for the heads up. I had these in my IS and now the GS. I think they are referring to the output in a strange way instead of using Lumens to indicate output. Taken from PIAA.com:

"The PIAA H11 Style Plasma 55=110 watt bulb provides 110 watts of light for 55 watts of power, and produces an amber/yellow light using patented ion crystal technology. Less reflective than white, this light reduces the amount of glare in extreme fog and improves visibility in inclement weather. It is designed with a high-quality heat-resistant tube."

Definitely more work as you'll need to install the bulb, ballast and a possible relay harness connection to the battery may be needed. Many forum members have done this themselves and there is DIY in the DIY sticky for installing HID Fogs (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...tallation.html)

Simpler to get a high-output LED bulb which is plug and play (not as bright but depends on what you're going for).

Yeah I don't think I will be doing the HID then. I am leaning towards either the PHILIPS X-TREME ULTINON LED FOG LIGHT BULBS if I can still get them for the lower price or Morimoto XB LED Fog lights. Although the price is a bit higher than I was originally looking to spend. So I may wait a bit to make sure I do it right. The pictures I have seen the Morimoto seem to put out a lot more light than the Philips and still have the correct beam patter for a fog light unlike the cheaper versions.

I tried to set up a group buy for the morimoto's, however since they are not a vendor on this forum i recieved a stern message from an Admin. I didn't know that vendors needed to be members on this site to set up a group buy.

Theretrofitsource usually does 25% off group buys on tacomaworld.com or toyotanation.com (i don't think there are any on right now though).

I would honestly go for these, they have a nice wide beam and match the OEM headlights in kelvin.

I have the Morimoto XB LED Type T Foglights on my vehicle as well and think they are definitely worth it over the stock HID fogs on the 2013 GS.

To comment on the difference between just changing bulbs vs changing the entire housing, Andrew from TheRetroFit Source mentioned
"LED bulbs in the stock housings will perform poorly and likely just change the color of the light. There's no good optics in a halogen reflector for an LED bulb at least from a forward lighting perspective.

The XB LED fog light housings are 100% sealed, require no additional parts, and have a polycarbonate lens inside to project all of the light in a broad but shallow pattern."

I have Bi-LED headlamps on my GSh, so I wanted fogs to compliment that. They throw a nice, wide pattern lower to the ground and just look sexy with a color temperature that matches the LED (around 5500K). Plus, if you follow Greg's amazing DIY topic, changing them out can't be any easier!

When I had my GS I replaced mine with the OEM lamps for the 2014-2015 which were LED OEM. Worked great and actually put out usable light.

OK. Think that makes my mind up that I should go with the Morimoto's once I get a little extra money to purchase them.
