I know that the geniuses at Toyota made the decision not to allow Apple Carplay and use their outdated proprietary version instead. Anyone know of a gizmo that can make Apple Carplay hook into the GS?.
I take every opportunity in Lexus feedback surveys to tell them to introduce it, not optimistic though.
That may be largely true but the system generations are different. There are 3 different gen head units between the '13-'16 models. '13 gen models may be left in the dust.
I hope the wiring is the same, because the 2013 had a generation 7 head unit while the 2014 and up moved to a generation 8. This would be a great add on though. Can't wait to see it on the market.

I don't see any where in that link where it confirms 2013 GS will be included. But given what is involved in the technology I don't see any reason that it won't be available for the 2013.
Curious, since it's plug and play, how is it activated? Is it like the mirroring feature that you have to download their firmware and upload to the car via USB thumb drive?
