2015 gs 350 - headlight bulb removal
I started a stupid thread, and cant figure out how to remove it, so I'm going to make use of it. Bare with me, as Ive never swapped a headlight before in any of my cars. So use these at your own risk. Hey at least itll include pictures There may very well be another diy. I was looking for one specifically for the 4g gs and couldn't find one.
How to change your driver side headlight fairly easily. I did see a lot of complaints about the lack of space on the driver side. Probably not tbe quickest eay, but i think its the easiest
Step 1: Take the wheel lock out of your trunk just in case.
Step 2. Disconnect the battery (I'm guessing your supposed to?)
Step 3. Follow the steps in the instruction manual on replacing the drivers side turn signal light. Now I am lowered on Tanabe springs and have the 19"
wheels so it made it much easier for me to remove the wheel. It takes a few minutes and helps with work room. If youre not lowered, you can probably get away without removing it. But not sure.
Step 4: remove the plastic covers on the drivers side along with the others in the engine bay as well. You have to remove the passenger side covers anyway to swap the bulb on that side. Now un-attach the grey connector next to the metal plate by pressing the tab on the side and pulling it out. I went thru the engine bay and had to shift my position a few times but once I found an angle, came out easily. i think this might be done easier thru the panel in the wheel well.
Step 5: Now back to the panel in the wheel well and unclip the black wire that connects to the headlight and turn signal light and move it aside. There are 2 clips it attaches to.
You can now remove the grey clip if you haven't already and put it to the side.
Step 6: Now remove the silver metal cover by turning it counter-clockwise and put it to the right. This is where i found it helpful to have access to the plate from both sides.
Step 7. Now unattach the silver connector inside by turning it counter-clockwise. I put the metal cover plate and the plug to the side and thru the top of the engine bay to get it out of the way.
Step 8. Unclip the bulb by pressing forward at the top of the clips the in towards the bulb. The clip will swivel forward and now you can easily remove the bulb. Put the new one in, and reverse steps.

Changing the bulbs on the driver side is a PITA. I managed to drop the bulb inside the housing. I have no idea how I was able to reach in there and grab it, without touching the bulb. I did all of this the day I brought the car home and was thisclose to taking the car back to the dealer to rectify my mistake.

Haha the titlw should be HID bulb removal and replacement. I thought you removed the whole head light housing.
Anyways I tried replacing my bulbs too but gave up when I got to the drivers side. I took the car to lexus and paid about $100 and the replaced both light bulbs and gave my car a complimentary car wash. Well worth the money.

My initial impression is that they slightly reduce visibility. I do like the color. Just a hint of blue. I thought when purchasing that they would increase visibility. But i was mistaken. So i wouldnt purchase them again. But again, i was hoping for an increase in visibility. I do love the look. But now makes me want to swap the turn signal and the nike swoosh to match...

6K is the maximum color temp that I would use. It is perfectly fine at night and in the rain. Go much higher than that and you're sacrificing safety.
Similar to the nutjobs who put the black plastic covers over all of their lights. Yeah man....you're cool!!!
