Default Driver Drowsy Monitor (box on steering wheel) - Sunglasses?

Does the driver drowsy monitor work if the driver is wearing glasses, or especially sunglasses?

Glasses yes and lighter sunglasses yes. I presume dark or mirrored sunglasses won't work, unless it's looking at the head angle and not eye position, but don't have any to test it.

Asian drivers are always registered as drowsy, our eyes are always closed.

The OP asks a good question.
These are IR sensors. I saw a slide show where a guy from Lexus College explains that it looks at the driver's eyes when the car is started, and uses that as a reference to determine if the driver is looking ahead. That determination causes the PCS warning to occur about 1 sec earlier, where a collision is determined to be probable.
