The RC 350 F Sport is rated at 5.6 secs on the Lexus website not 5.7. So they are identical. The RC F is 4.4 secs and the GS F is 4.5 secs.
I get what you are saying and that really was not my point, but I think you know that.

I'm a major gear head and have owned some really fast cars. Obviously there are tradeoffs to everything. My A7 is a 4.4 approx car based upon magazine tests and I can tell you it feels worlds faster than out GS. But I certainly understand that people buy different cars for different reasons and I respect that. We are about to trade our GS (which is really my wife's car) for a GX 460 that is about two seconds slower to 60!

I gave up my really fast car because I was spending too much time on my three bikes. They fulfill my need-for-speed.

I was agreeing with your point that 1 sec is a big difference. I was illustrating that it can be a $40k difference at times.

You know that im a big fan of the A7 platform. The design is spot on, but i wasnt aware the A7 does it in 4.4 secs.

Yes, I knew we were on the same page.

Motor Trend tested a 2016 A6 at 4.4 which is an identical power train. Car & Driver did 4.7 on a 2016 A7. I had a 2015 then traded for the 2016. I had been a skeptic that the extra 23 hp on the 2016 would be noticeable, but it is as the tests confirm. But Audi is becoming known for under rating their hp (Google S8 horsepower).

I sat in the RC 350 and while it was "neat" the walk-away impression is it's too expensive for what it is. The other problem is it was just claustrophobic, it was like it was designed for a driver that's a 5'3" Japanese woman that's maybe about 100 pounds soaking wet. The "you feel like your in a fighter jet" thing is cool, but overall it just seemed less comfortable. Not to mention the trunk goes from "you can fit a couple of bodies in here" to "a few small overnight bags"... the storage capacity difference is pretty dramatic.

My .02....

All evidence that you're not a coupe guy. I'm not either, but judging a sport coupe through the lens of space, luggage capacity, etc doesn't make sense. You buy something like a sport coupe for emotional reasons, not practical reasons.
