Default (2013 Lexus GS 350) $26,989-76,190 mi.

Hi Guys, I Hope everyone is doing well and having a great day!
I would like you guys to give me some suggestions on buying a new car.
I would like to buy a new car in cash, my budget is $29000.
I have found a 2013 Lexus GS 350 Luxury Package for $26989 and has 76190 miles on it.
What you guys opinions about it? since it has high mileage

You should be able to negotiate a lower price with them. If I recall correctly, that Lexus dealership has not converted to the 'set price' strategy. Talk to Anthony there. He is a good guy. I bought a car from him several years ago and see him there when I get parts.

That is a lot of miles for a 2013 so it will turn off a lot of potential buyers unless the price is very attractive. I think you have some leverage even though it is a luxury package.

I think its a fair deal but something to remember is that every warranty has expired on that car. After taxes and fees, you might still pay close to $30,000 for a higher mileage, non-certified, non-warrantied vehicle. Its still a Lexus so reliability isn't an issue, but things can and do happen when mileage goes up (exhaust, mufflers, sensors)...

When I was considering a previous vehicle, I found a GS with low mileage but no warranty. I inquired about buying an extended platinum warranty from Lexus (basically full coverage for all components that could fail with no deductible) and 1yr/12k of a platinum warranty was over $1000. That was back in 2014 and the car was a 2007 GS350 with 34k miles being sold for $22,000 at an Infiniti dealership about 50 miles from my area.

After I did the math adding in the extended warranty, I realized that it would be better to simply find a good deal on a car that already had an existing warranty/certification obviously with lower mileage. Ended up getting into an certified '11 IS350 with 40k miles.

What about something like this: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...3379/overview/

That price seems too high to me given the mileage. You should be able to get a 2013 GS 350 with many fewer miles on it than that, or else get the price down quite a bit on one with that mileage. If you want this one, I would not hesitate to make a lower offer. But if your budget is $29,000, you might want to keep looking for one with fewer miles on it. I was looking last weekend at Certified Pre-Owned 2013 GS 350s and found quite a few listings in Southern California with half the miles that car has on it for the low $30,000s range.

Keep looking. But, if you feel this is the best car you can find within budget without having to fly 3000 miles away to find another one, get it and don't look back.

Nothing worse than having buyer's remorse.

I only have one thing to say about this vehicle. That is a LOT of miles. I have a 2013, bought it in April of 2015. It had 37k miles at the time. It was purchased in February of 2012. So I didn't feel that bad about the milage. If you go by actual years on the vehicle vs model year, my vehicle had about 12-13k per year. Not bad. Sounds worse if you calculate it by the model year, being 2013.

So look at the "in-service" date of that car and then miles per year. It seems like a lot, probably 20k a year or so. These cars are pretty damn reliable, but that milage might turn me away. Also, as others mentioned, no warranty left, but again, reliable cars.

I think price is too high for the milage but I haven't looked at the used GS prices lately.

When I was driving what I consider to be a ton for work I was driving about 20k per year. Looks like that car may have had around that, possibly more.

In my opinion that car has too many miles to consider buying it. But, even if you will consider buying the car it is my opinion that the price is too high...by ~$4,000+. Personally, I think you can do much better... That car will have 100,000 miles on it in no time. Too much...

I completely agree. I personally would not pay $30,000 for a car with that many miles on it, even if it is a Lexus, and especially without a warranty (which this one doesn't have). For that price, you can find -- and deserve -- a car with many fewer miles and hopefully a warranty too.

Are you stuck on the GS350 model or open to others?

Np - glad to be of some help... Be sure to negotiate and let us know which one you end up with - as i've said many times, you can't go wrong with the GS!
