rVague - I don't know why you are so upset about this poll question. You do realize that in the state of California, where you say you reside, there is a federal requirement that the Department of Education must collect data of race and ethnicity of both students and staff members? Also, the state of California (without federal mandate) requires the detailed collection of Asian and Pacific Islander sub-populations.
Would it surprise you to learn that Toyota/Lexus has collected data on race and ethnicity of the owners and lessees of their vehicles?

If you elected to answer the poll question no one would know what you entered, or if you entered it correctly. You are anonymous, and no one cares about you individually.
Would you find a poll question about how tall owners of GS 350s are troubling? Probably not, even though the question would not have any direct connection with Lexus or the GS 350.
For some unknown reason you have a problem with identifying the race / ethnicity of who enjoys owning/leasing the Lexus GS 350. I do not understand why...
