Does anyone know if there is a firmware update out yet or in the works to be release for the 13-15 models? Was hoping the dealership can do it for me when I bring my car in for the 5,000 service. Thanks in advance for any info.

Lexus is terrible at making "upgrades" to system from one model year to another. They'll update your maps, but they won't update/upgrade the system. It's like their way of getting customers to buy new cars...

I would think it would be a simple software update to the Navi unit. I find it hard to believe Lexus wouldn't think that far ahead when building their vehicles to improve profit margins for future car models and compatibility ( charge for a navi software update which has higher margins than charging for a new navi unit). But then again I'm not surprised, look at how our country is run. How much is a new navi unit?

That's just it, they did plan it. I've harped on this topic a lot. It ticks me off that just about all computer operated devices today get operating systems upgrades. But not Lexus, they want you to but a new car. I wish I knew someone with skills to hack the OS, and make my map full screen. Kinda like a jail broken iPhone.

The new unit would cost around $8,800.

Actually u can. But it costs about $50K. ![Wink](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
If u look at the 16 model, the buttons on the mouse are actually different, so unless u buy a new car u can't have the new system.
