Did you put on a primer and then use a gloss black spray can? Came out nice! Thinking about either painting or vinyl wrapping my CF splitter lips. Thoughts? FYI, I'm not a big fan of the whole CF look, I love piano/gloss black though.
I'm trying to decide whether to paint my think design lip to match the nebula gray color or paint it black. I quickly wrapped one piece in gloss black to see how it'd look. Any thoughts?
I tried to keep my front lip a similar look with the matte finish of the rear diffuser on my non F-Sport. I think yours looks great in black - nice and subtle and it would go with your "blacked-out" theme going on up front with the grille chrome delete and emblem.

i actually took it to a shop to get it painted. Then I clear bra wrapped it to prevent rock chips
I wish. You guys do know that a skipper lip is around $700 unpainted and a Lexon lip is around $780 unpainted.....reps are cheaper but havent found one that people have raved about yet to be honest.
those lips are pricey. I got my Lexon Carbon Fiber Front Lip for $1050 :/ but damn it’s all well worth every penny
Did you have to drill holes in the front bumper to install the front lip spoilers?
I believe most of the forum members end up drilling holes even on the original Lexon, Skipper or Think Design lip kits. I originally didn't want to drill holes in the bumper but afterward realized the section of your bumper that you drill is never visible and it helps the lip fit as flush as possible.
If you get a knock-off of one of these lip kits from eBay, you will definitely need to drill...i know that Lexon provides nuts/bolts but if you go through various threads, you'll find that most people drill holes anyway:
My installer accidentally drilled through my bumper just in front of the fog grill! So pissed 😵.
Oh Damn that looks ****ty
well give me a reason to get a new bumper or get the f sport bumper repainted.

Damn! That is not the type of mistake a professional makes. Too bad that you now have to deal with this...
Yeah ****ty situation. And right after he screwed this up, he did almost the exact same thing on the other side. Doh!
But it's behind the grill, so not so visible.
I was going to repaint the bumper anyways because previous owner scraped the hell out of driver side.

What kind of place installed it for you ... and did the installer have any experience at all?

Yeah, he's a professional - got his own shop. He probably installed dozens of these lip spoilers for all kinds of CL members here in SoCal.
I can't put him on blast, he's a good guy and it was an honest mistake.
Probably just a bad day for him, not sure why he didn't pay attention when drilling.
I'll probably just repaint the bumper sometimes next Spring and move on from this eye-sore.
Just FYI for all you dude planning to drill your bumper. Be careful!!

He may be a 'good guy', but if he was a stand-up guy he would offer to fix the mistake he made, or at least offer to help you out. That cost is just part of him doing business, whether he's a good guy, or not.
