So i couldnt find 235/40/19 in the tires i wanted so i went up to 245/40/19. I have only seen a couple of photos floating around of this setup so thought i'd post some pics. Overall i cant tell a big difference looks wise. Previous tires were pirelli p-zero and were replaced with hankook ventus v12 evo2. Very happy with them so far and cost was $700 installed vs $1300 for the p-zeros.
Hankook ventus v12 evo2. 245/40/19 in the front 265/35/19 in the back
I did the same thing (but staggered) and the wider tire "meat" fills the wheel wells nicely (less gap, without having to drop). Also, the ride is much smoother and more grounded.
I went with Continental ExtremeContact DW on all four, about $960 otd at Discount Tire.
Why not go 275/35/19 in the rear to keep the size difference in line
I bought the rear tires before the front ones thinking that Hankook made a 235/40/19 but turns out they don't so I was kind of stuck w/ the 265/40/19. If I had known I would have went up to 275.
I have the 245/40s too, in Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3. They are slightly taller so the AWD gap isn't quite as bad. Mine is a square setup...
The speedo is off a bit (reads high) but it doesn't bother me. Will continue with this size, unless I got to 20" rims
