It doesn't matter which one, I like both packages. Just looking for a good deal. Thanks for your input.

I don't mean to hijack the OP's thread, but I've been keeping an eye out for a used 2013 GS with 50k ish miles in the $26-28k range. I noticed that all the cars the OP is looking at are significantly more $$. Not much locally to choose from, so I'll likely have to travel a bit to get one... Am I outclassed for a decent 2013 GS in that price range? In other words, are most GS 350s in the sub-$28k even worth persuing, or are they going to be problematic?
Thanks!

In the sub-$28k range the GS's are perfectly fine as long you check the history and the car looks clean. However, you can still get a certified GS in your price range:

Not certified but clean history:

I don't know how I missed those, especially that white one. As for the non-certified one, would one with 70,000 miles give you any heartburn? Never owned a Lexus, I know the LS models are known to go forever, what about the 4th gen GS?

Looking for something that will last 10 more years and 150,000 more miles with minimal heartache other than maintenance and normal wear and tear items needing replaced (brakes, struts, etc...).

To 737driver: I always get a little heartburn when I buy a used car because you just never know, but honestly, that particular car with 70K miles wouldn't give me too much. It's a one-owner car that appears to have been faithfully serviced on time every time. People who are good about regularly servicing their cars generally treat them well while driving them, too. As far as the GS, just look at how many second-generation GS's are still on the road. I'm sure you'll have to put some money into repairs over a 10-year period with another 150,000 miles, but I bet it won't be anything like with some other brands. We have had incredibly good luck with all of our Lexus cars over the years.

If i was in the market for that 70k mileage car, I would negotiate the price down as low as possible. Then I'd consider a lexus platinum or gold warranty (VSA) for a year or two just for my own peace of mind. Those extended warranties are pricey though and can run you up to $2000 for 2yrs/24k of coverage.

You could save that $2000 and put it into any unexpected repairs that come up...My best advice is that you should always do your best to get the lowest mileage car you can afford.

Might be a good idea to wait until the end of the year to get a used car. I recall the the '13s were going around for low $30s in December when I leased by '15. I'm guessing thats when they want to clear our used inventory as well since they are expecting a huge influx of trade ins due to year end promotions.

Good idea... Unfortunately my daughter is turning 16 in July, and I promised her my current car. I'll certainly keep my eye out for a good deal.
I was more concerned with some of the cars I've seen in my price range... While $28k is a fraction of the new price, it's still plenty for a used car. Want to avoid heartache and stress as much as possible.

The wife wants to go in the direction of a 2013 Accord Touring

What's a 16 year old doing driving all over the place by herself anyways? I'm sure she will understand if she needs to share your car for a few more months. It's not like she needs the car everyday to go to school. Don't know what the law is in UT, but in NY a 16yr still has to be accompanied by an adult when driving.

The accord is not a bad choice. The money saved can be put towards a GS at the end of the year. The accord can be the wife's car

Ive sold a few CPO GSs recently in your price range, 62 and 65K miles on them in the 27s but those were AWD cars.

RWD cars in the 50s mileagewise should be doable as AJLex posted.

A nice thing about a CPO car is not just the warranty but....

You can add an additional up to 5 years on TOP of the CPO warranty with NO mileage restrictions.

And the car is generally going to be in excellent condition mechanically; my average spend on a CPO GS is $2K+ before the CPO cost.

Gorgeous!! Wow!

Ok I'm sold. Just need to keep an eye out for a deal. Though I live in the Utah mountains, there's really only 3-5 days a rear I wish I had awd, so I'm leaning towards the rwd model with snow tires.

I see quite a few deals in the northeast, as well as Georgia for some reason. I've always been under the impression that I need to stay away from Georgia cars because of the higher rate of title washing. Is this still a problem in 2016?

TriCounty Lexus seems to have good prices… Anyone ever do business with them?

I once worked for Tri County, currently they are technically a competitor of mine.

Read their fine print completely and carefully. Also, like with any seller, I would suggest reading their online reviews.
