Oil Change Video for GS350

I dont understand why would the owners manual say refill 6.6 quarts of oil when changing the oil filter as well.
There must be something wrong if only 5 quarts of oil is drained...
Either your car is burning oil or idk...
I dont have time to measure how much oil i drain but I always refill 6.6 quarts of oil and I check the same day as well as the next day when the engine is cold and oil level is fine....

Great video, very helpful.
On my 2013 GS F-Sport RWD there was no inner housing to remove, only the full housing cover. The oil filter ordered from a Toyota dealer only came with 1 o-ring so I guess this was consistent. I had the car up on ramps and put 6.5 quarts in vs. the 6.8 quarts listed in the owner's manual before the dipstick read full after running the engine for a minute to check for leaks.

You guys that do your own oil changes you ever measure how much oil you drain out? I just did an oil change yesterday for the first time on my 2013 GS350 AWD and only got about 4 quarts. I put in 5 quarts of oil and now my dip stick is showing way too much oil.
Am I missing something here. Been changing oil on my own cars all my life. Is there a trick to draining all the oil out of the GS350? I'm going to try and drain the oil again after work today to see how much comes out.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I'm glad the video came in handy.
If any of you want to try your hand at a changing the rear differential fluid click the link below in my signature. Changing the rear differential fluid is easier than doing an oil change. It's also cheap insurance to change this fluid every 40k-50k miles if longevity is key.

Hi, I had a question. I placed a jackstand further down from where the video jacks the car up. I to move the jack to the center point and lowered it onto the stand and saw the stand indent the metal. Now, this is further down from where the video jacks up the car and the frame is a different material. I thought it was just the frame covered in some type of soft material but I think it's not strong enough. It rested on that point for seconds and I immediately jacked it back up.
Can anyone tell me what I dented in and is it a big deal?

Hi, I had a question. I watched several oil changing videos but couldn't get my floor jack to the center point so I placed a jackstand further down on the frame rails (where the manufacturer recommends you place jack stands). I then decided to move the jack to the center point and lowered it onto the stand and saw the stand indent the metal. Now, this is further down from where the video jacks up the car and the frame seems to be a different material. I thought it was just the frame covered in some type of soft material but I think it's not strong enough. It rested on that point for seconds and I immediately jacked it back up.

I just changed my 2014 GS 350 RWD F -Sport oil and oil filter. However, my filter does not have the same assembly as shown in this video. I didn't have to purge any oil from the filter housing as it doesn't have any port to access. It's more straightforward in that you just use the SST tool and remove the filter housing. Although this video is named 2013+ GS 350, I don't think it represents all later year GS 350s....
