Default Contemplating Trading in RC350 '15 for GS350 '16

Contemplating of trading the RC 350 for a GS 350 F sport, enjoyed the coupe life but now family life is coming.
I would like to see if my current offer from my dealer is sound or if I can get a better deal by getting input from everyone.
But before I provide said numbers, I just want everyone to know that I know that the smarter, financial move would be to wait for the lease to end. Thank you

I traded in my RC350 in November for a GS350. Now that I have had the GS, there are definitely differences. You get tons more room in the GS and less outside noise. I sometimes miss the RC350 because of the sportiness and handling. It definitely feels faster off the line. I sometimes wonder if I made the right decision but like I said there are pros and cons. I wish I could have both! Lets just say the the GS you definitely wont get the same stares as you did with the RC.

PAPI! Thank you for the quick response, I do not care about the stares haha but more about the room. As you know that car is ideally a 2 person seater, at max 3. Thank you for your feedback

Also just my thought, while test driving the GS 350 F sport, I felt the front to be heavier than the RC, did you experience that instance too?

Yes, a whole lot heavier, The GS definitely lags behind the RC which felt like a rocket even though they have the same engine.

That doesn't really make sense...the RWD GS350 weighs in at 3726 lbs while the RC350 weighs in at 3748 lbs.

It could be the longer wheelbase making you perceive that the car is heavier.

Front struts suppose to help, I bought them a month ago and haven't gotten around to install them yet....and got in touch with Hotchkiss for sway bars for our gen and they responded with "The smallest batch of sway bar we will run is 25 pieces so we would need a commitment for close to that number. We would also need a vehicle for prototype test fitment since the GS doesn’t share a platform with a car we already do." so ill to make a post about this cause it will make a big difference omg!!

Well if you can fit 3 people in the RC, is it worth trading it in to fit that 1 extra person? The middle seat in the back is pretty much useless, even for a small person. Maybe an RX or GX is a better option if you need room for a family.

I didn't go from an RC to a GS, but rather from an IS to a GS, so my experience is not totally applicable but I'll share anyway. I too upgraded to a GS to better fit my growing family. It's been a remarkable family car so far.

What I really noticed is that the GS is so much more refined and quiet that it feels like there's less going on, even though acceleration is just a tick slower than the IS (and basically on par with the RC). Because it feels so much bigger, I had an immediate perception of it being less nimble. However, with more time spent with it, I have continued to push the limits more and more and am pleasantly surprised with just how much this car's handling resembles that of something much smaller.

My GS took a bit more time to bond with than my IS, but now I am fully on board. The GS is awesome.

I was debating in an RC before I purchased my GS F Sport. I like the exterior look of the RC but the interior is a bit "plastic" when comparing to the elegance the GS provides. Everything in the GS felt solid and refined. As for performance, I drove both and to be completely honest, I felt the RC was a bit quicker of the line but beyond that, felt very similar.

I am happy with my choice and know that the comfort vs looks will make me enjoy driving the car more often.

Thanks guys for the feedback! Anyways this is my current lease and offer was wondering if I could get your $0.02 thank you again.

Currently my RC is valued @ a negative 6,000. I pay about 667 a month w/ maintenance
With the GS F sport '16 @ 12k per year and ML, the dealer offered $770 a month with 3k down.
I am trying to get the dealer to do $750 a month with maintenance w/ a 9 month MSD, I know the numbers are bad, but again the main thing is what is the best deal you think I can get?

Been a while since I posted here. I'm sort of in the same boat. I currently have a 2015 IS350 F sport - lease is up February 2017. Current payment is $535 tax in (I rolled in previous negative equity so the payment is a little high).

I have been looking at jumping into a 2016 GS F sport.

What I've managed is the following if I want to turn my IS350 in now: $1k out of pocket, $650 tax in, 36 months, 12K miles/year.

There's really no urgency, other than wanting a new car now, so I'll prob hold off. Yours seems a bit high though.

Honestly no idea what the lease prices are on an RC, and it's sort of hard to answer if I think your current payment is high or the swap is high.

Without knowing what the current leasing is on an RC, I cannot give a better answer than it just seems high to me. I guess both. Sorry, not much help.

No worries, thank you for the feedback, I believe at the time when I got my RC lease it was really high. What is your negative equity if you do not mind me asking if you traded in your car?
