I'm curious for how longer they are going to keep the tail up.

The sales figures are definitely demonstrating that...

But on the other hand, i wouldn't have leased the '14 in the first place without the super low lease so I guess this nets out as an incremental sale overall.

Completely understood.
Similar thing happened on my Volt lease. My new 2013 was less than $400 month, new 2017 models are going for $650/month. I went looking somewhere else.

Lexus does not seem to learn. They have already played this game before and the results were ugly.
The 3GS leases were so bad that it led to GS460 V8 being canceled and Akio Toyoda wanting to cancel the entire GS line, because the sales were so poor.

I saw my first 16 GS yesterday. It didn't catch my eye until it was past me. I like the tail of the refresh over my 14.

I remember last year reading about a no-haggling strategy Lexus wanted to implement, where you cannot negotiate the price. Maybe this is part of it?

I don't think so. Lease payments are a result of great deals on the purchase price (read, rebates), low money factors and high residuals. On the GS they've been running the trifecta, where you have all three that results in really low payments. BMW is famous for this. Issue is the resale market for the GS is weak, and their profit perspective is poor probably on the GS as a model.

Just as an example, I had a 2010 ES350, my payment was $610. At the time that was a great payment, well in 2015 a $60,000 GS was cheaper than that to lease...which meant they had to get the leases better on the ES, etc. People don't jump to the LS because the gap is so huge, etc. It has an overall effect.

Lexus decided they wanted to wade into the lease wars, BMW is famous for doing that stuff but Lexus always stayed out of it. Well, now they've done it and they may want to pull back and the result isn't going to be good.

My lease ends in about 2-3 months. I'm looking to get the same payment for a '16 model by June. If it doesn't happen, I may look elsewhere. From what I've seen of the very few '16 F-Sport, I like it. I hardly see any '16 models to begin with.

If by "no haggle" pricing, they mean a significant discount from MSRP...then fine. Otherwise, nope.

I hate the whole process of buying/leasing a car, but I'm not going to be forced into a price because "that's the way it is". I'll go somewhere else.

Sure...if the no haggle price is the best price then I'll do that. However, I have never seen one time where it has been. Never once.

Hopefully these sales numbers burn them all. You know Lexus corporate is not happy.

Although maybe it is a inventory issue...in which case my rant is null and void.
That is insane. Lexus dealers seem to live in their own sweet world.

Not surprising at all. The grill works on a few cars of which GS is not one. If Lexus wanted it across the board then why just design in for the LS (looks perfect on it!) and then assume it will work on all their offerings.

Yeah. Same here. Under $300 seems way too low for a GS.

For $900 you can lease an S-Class in NYC.
