Default Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 vs. lots of rain

This last week the Dallas area has had quite a bit of rain. It's really the first opportunity I have had to test my Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 tires in the wet. And I have to say that I'm very impressed. The tires grip well in the rain and I have had no hydroplaning issues at all, even in heavy rain. I have had tires in the past ( on other cars ) that put you on edge when the rain gets heavy and the car drifts around. But none of that with the Conti's. I have about 5000 miles on these tires and so far I'm very happy with them.

Doug

Is this the DWS-06 or just DWS? I've had the Extreme contact DWS on my last car (Audi A4) and loved them. Last year I put the DWS PureContact (Touring tire) on my wife's RX and they've been great as well. I recently got the DWS-06 on my GS but only had them for 300 miles so I'm wondering which ones exactly you have. So far I like mine but it's been dry and sunny all week so don't know if they're that much better than the previous DWS.

I read that the DWS-06 was made to cure the DWS soft sidewalls that many were complaining about. Now, if they can only make a DW-06.

Yes, I was referring to the DWS 06.

There is no better tire than those DWS!!! I have had 4 sets of those tires , and nothing compares to them... I had them on my 03 Gs 300 ,07 Ls460 , and my current 09 TSX , and will be putting them on my 13 or 14 Gs350 when I buy it in a few months... You can keep for your 300$ Michelins , there is nothing that compares to the Continental DWS

For a daily driver.... this.

DWSs on my RWD Jaguar + Steep hills of Northern NJ = No trouble at all.

On an AWD GS? The thing turns into a snowmobile.
