Get the Gran Coupe (with additional warranty of course) - it's a gorgeous car inside and out.
The N55 straight-6 engine in 640i has been fairly reliable by BMW's standard. I leased a '13 535i (same N55 engine) and did not have a single powertrain related issue in the three years I drove the car. The powertrain in these cars (N55 engine + ZF 8-speed transmission) is simple sublime - BMW gets lots of praise for their straight-sixes and I feel they rightfully earned it.
