New Rumors on the 2018 GS
#46
If the name "Lexus LS300t" is accurate, I just want to say that I greatly appreciate the Lexus ability to name vehicles based on their actual displacement rather than some sort of fairy-tale number they pulled out of their *** because it sounded cool and then randomly inflated to show progress. I can't wait for the 2025 BMW 360i, equipped with a 1.5L twin-turbo inline-three.

The TTV6 is inevitable. All year and part of last year, the Lexus owner surveys have been asking about powerplants. Naturally aspirated, turbo, hydrogen, hybrid, fuel cell, you name it. With all the other luxury marques turbo and supercharging (and Volvo doing both on the polestar) it was only a matter of time before Lexus joined the club.
The great part is that none of the Japanese manufacturers are strangers to turbocharging. We'll get an iron skillet reliable engine just like the supra had, only better. I miss that smooth in line six but this time around, little to no lag. Exciting times.
