Like the Germans, Lexus is going from naturally aspirated V8's to Twin Turbo Sixes? Better for MPGs but not easier maintenance-wise. We'll see if this rumor becomes fact.

Its interesting because the rumors back in 2013 regarding a future GS-F from a magazine in Japan seemed to be pretty close to fact:

Similarly back then, the GS-F was about 2years away from production when that leak happened and now we're 2yrs away from a potential 2018-2019 redesigned GS with new engine options...Very similar leak if you ask me! Almost points to a potentially credible possibility based on history!

Pole Position
Plus its based on the TNGA platform is a little suspicious. I can't imagine the LC's platform will only be used on the LC and LS. The GS and IS should be based on the LC's platform with less exotic materials. Less aluminum, more regular steel? The torque numbers seems to be in line with Infiniti's twin turbo v6 so that part might be true.

I'm loving that front end. and 2018 would be the year my lease is up.

Good to hear rumours the next gen 5GS powered by 3.0 V6 Twin Turbos is coming a year earlier than normal in 2018 thereby reducing the current 4GS to only a 6 year model cycle.
However, I hope they stretch the 5GS' wheelbase from the current 2850 to 2990, rather than just the rumoured 2880 mm.

Sounds like Lexus is listening to the GS modders and tuners (and the German fans), a supercharged/dual-scroll turbo is hard to resist. It will definitely make BMW/Audi folks take a second look.

That front grille, sure looks good. It is amazing how quickly the spindle grille has settled into our perceptions.

Heck I`d say BMWs FI N20 4 cylinder models to be one of the most bulletproof base engines in a production BMW.
Again i think the only thing of a concern in any newer vehicle are the plethora of modules. You cannot really mess up an engine, but you certainly can mess up the brains of the operation, and as we all know, if you dont have a brain...
