Default Clear coat for machined wheels

I just picked up my wheels from being powder coated and having the face machined. I really wish I would have opted to have them clear coat the machined face. Is this a quick fix that I can do myself or would I be better off taking them back and having a professional take care of it? Overall I'm very satisfied with how they turned out.

I'm a card carrying do-it-yourselfer, but I would not feel comfortable clear coating wheels myself. It's a very tough life wheels live with all they are exposed to...brake dust, serious road grime, tires being mounted and dismounted etc.

I like your choice in wheels!

That's a great before and after! Wheels look awesome. My advise would be to leave it to the professionals even though I'm a DIYer myself. I personally this time around would let someone else clear coat them if I were you.

Yeah thats what my gut feeling is telling me to do as well. I'm dropping them off this morning. I'm a DIY-er as well; I'm just not very confident with clear coat. I'm afraid I would mess up their hard work.

My favorite tires you go there.. there is a newer version out called the DSW06 which has a tread patter closer to the ContiExtreme Contact tire that was out years ago.. but both awesome tires.. the only ones that I would buy.

These are the DSW06's. I had a set on my stock wheels as well. Besides the car vibrating at highway speeds I was really pleased with them. The vibration wasn't from the tires or the wheels it was from the missing hub centric rings .

Yeah there's small DWS06 stamped on the side wall. From my understanding the 06's tread pattern is the same. I think the biggest change was they stiffened up the sidewalls on the new tires to help prevent vibration after sharp cornering.
