A chunk of my tire missing :(
How can this happened? Is this safe to drive for another 20-30K miles? I don't know how long has it been like this and I've been driving like a race car for all this time.
I just don't feel like spending 1500+ on a new set of tires then trade it in shortly after. I might as well dump $1500 towards a new car.

How thick are these tubeless tires anyway? I know the sidewall isn't very thick but what about the threaded part?

Try measuring the depth and compare it to where the wear bars are to maybe get a better idea. I would also go to a tire shop like Nasrul3698 said. You wouldn't want to risk a blow out on the highway.

Agreed, since it is not side wall damage I would believe that it is repairable - but as others have said go to a tire shop and have them take a look @ it. Worst case scenario buy some used tires and cal lit a day.

I already made an appointment with my dealer for this afternoon cause I do have the tire protection package so maybe they'll just replace it like they did to my front one with a sidewall cut. Are these Bridgestones really this soft and fragile?!
What is it with this car, I haven't even had my fender ding fixed and now this.

It's the stock FSport one, I forgot the model number.
I met with my guy at the dealer and he's keeping my car for a few days, it'll probably get a new tire and fix the ding on my fender. I have high hopes for this. but we'll see.
Meanwhile I'm driving a loaner ES base. Damn this car sucks but quiet though, sound system sucks. U know the GS is that good when a brand new $40K 2016 ES feels like crap.

To the OP, I'm betting you get a new tire for that damage. I had a much smaller chunk out of one of my tires and the dealer said it was too small to be a hazard. Yours looks much worse.

I think u guys are right cause my ES loaner has Michelins and DAMN! this car is dead quiet compared to my GS, it's more noisy. I think it's coming from my tires.

The ES is also a bit quieter by design than the GS. I think that the GS's sound insulation may have been a victim of lightweighting efforts; their lightweight asphalt sound insulation was something that they advertised as an advantage of the new-generation GS. Maybe it didn't work out quite as well as a sound barrier as they had hoped?

Going from the Dunlops to the Michelins on my car made a big difference is road sounds coming from the tires. Much quieter and more grip as well.

The new GS still comes with the same Dunlops and Bridgestones but the GSF comes with Michelins I think.
