Congrats, I think you are going to love it. I just purchased a 2015 GS Luxury to replace my 2014 BMW 550 Msport. I can really appreciate your comments. I swear my BMW rides better than the GS. I too had the HUD and loved it (except with polarized sunglasses). I looked at a 2014 GS with HUD and it was primitive by comparison. Also the map screen has much, much more detail than the GS screen.


Both cars have very thoughtful features, but I think the BMW wins. Why am I moving away from BMW if I liked it so much? Reliability problems of course. Perhaps my experience could be blamed on the 550 model (twin turbo, hot-v configuration) but whatever.


Make certain to setup the BMW app/account. It was great to be able to email my car a location/destination from Google Maps. Hop in the car, open the message and hit GO.

One more thing, if you need someone to code your BMW I have a referral. He did both my BMW's and is highly recommended. In addition to having your mirrors fold, you can get rid of the double-pull to unlock the doors and have the ability to open AND CLOSE your trunk from keyfob and/or button inside the car.

Thanks Dave for the reply. 550i is a beast and sorry about the reliability issue. Hopefully I don't run into that issue. PM me your guy's contact. I saw someone from Anaheim, CA who can do it which is about 30-40 mins away from me.
