Default ** Illuminated Door Sills?! **

Hi all,
Did anyone install the illuminated door sills in their 2016 GS 350 by themselves? I am trying to find out if they are simply plug and play, like the 2015 and prior models, or I will have to bring out my electric tape and wire cutters out? Wonder if its as simple as it was in this IS?!

Thank you all in advance!

They are not plug and play.

That GS in the youtube video looks like the old GS from 2005-2012, am I right???
I notice the seats look different.
Furthermore, the current GS from 2012-19 has a lot more buttons and adjustments.

I made a thread a couple weeks ago about the illuminated door sills being installed on my car. You're gonna need to splice the wires to the footwell lights.

They have never been plug-n-play in the GS. I had the JDM versions installed twice on my 3GSs and remember seeing the work required for the 4GS. This is not something I would attempt to do. Let a professional do it.

GR8: As already mentioned by other members, they are not plug and play like some of 2IS models. However, this thread may help you get an idea of whats involved: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-fsport-2.html

I believe thats an IS in the video.

Well, shuksy doodle doo..... seems like there will be lots of splicing and cutting that needs to be done to get the illuminated sills installed... I think I am starting to like the non-illuminated sills better now. I guess I should scratch that idea for now. haha.

Thank you all for chipping in. Saved me from spending 230 bucks on the illuminated sills.

Find someone to help install it. The install is exactly like showed in the youtube video except you gotta take a few more parts off. The instructions come with the sills when shipped. They're worth it IMO, I was a little hesitant at first but im glad i did mine...It makes the car look really classy at night. Just make sure to keep them scuff free
