Tried to upload a video. Files too big. But just find the ring right under the ****. It's part of the boot and push directly down on it. It won't break. Just don't pull at the boot.

 

It looks good! So you installed the boot too? Did you have to take apart the console to install the new boot?

Oh yes! I agree that it would look good on cabernet. You should do a installation "how to" haha so I can see how hard it the installation is.

 

Just an updated to this thread. I don't think the **** that came in my car was the F Sport ****. Take a look:


The installation was very easy with a pry tool:

Just push there and pull down under the silver base.

 

Both are the same it just needed some soapy water and a cloth to take the dirt off and it'll be flat again. The regular gear **** doesn't have the perforated leather just fyi.

 

I think you had told me about the soapy water before but chose to buy it new haha. Cool thanks for letting me know about the regular shift ****.

 

to replace my 2016 GS F Sport (awd) **** - I don't like the metal insert. Thought it would be plug and play, but the portion where the **** connects to the boot is different. Does anyone know if the boot from the earlier GS will fit a 16? How difficult would it be to change the boot? I don't know if I am comfortable modifying the existing boot in a new car.

Also thinking of adding fog lights - any suggestions? I've read the threads, but I am unsure of what to get. I know Nigel sells a kit, but debating OEM vs. projector bulbs - is that still an issue? Also hearing the complexity around using a stock stalk, makes me wonder if the other alternatives are better. If I don't go the way of the stalk install, how do I ensure that the fog lights will not kill the battery if accidentally left on.
