I was only considering the salvage title BMW, I appreciate the feedback. I believe he paid $12k and put a few thousand in it, so I would expect him to make a couple thousand.

As far as financial sense, keeping the GS makes no sense as the payoff is in the neighborhood of $41k and estimates I was getting online were low to mid 30's. Pretty bad depreciation for a Lexus.

I can swap out my RSR springs and put the stocks back on and leave the 20's. It is SoCal, modding is pretty common.

I wasn't turning it in early, if anything, maybe a month which I believe is acceptable.

Again, I appreciate the feedback guys.

Do not buy the BMW from your coworker! It's about to be out of warranty, and we all know that something major goes kaboom on a German car when it reaches the 50K miles mark...almost like its programmed to self-destruct.

I don't understand the logic that your coworker paid $12K for the car at auction, spent thousands on either repairs or aftermarket parts, put more miles and wear on the car, and demands more than he/she paid. The car isn't even worth $18K, especially with a salvage title.

You could probably get a pretty good deal on a CPO BMW 435. Even lease it if you wanted to.

I would assume it has no BMW warranty already because of it being a salvaged title.

The salvage BMW is no longer an option but something I was considering seeing its $7-10k less than a titled 335i for the same condition/ mileage.

Definitely looking to pick up a 1-2 yo 435i, thanks guys..

a salvaged car is never in the same condition as a clean title car, doesn't matter how many tens of thousands dollars is dumped into it
