Default AC issues...

Is it just me or the ac takes about 2 or 3 seconds to blow air once you turn it on?

Perfectly normal...with all vehicles that I'm familiar with.

That's normal. What I don't like is having to press the fan button 6 times to reach maximum airflow. It gets really annoying especially on hot days when you want to bring the A/C up to max speed as fast as possible, so I end up mashing on the button rapidly.

I just leave it in AUTO, set around 73-75 depending. If its really hot out I have been starting the car remotely and by the time I get there, even if it's only a minute or two, it's already cooled down greatly. If I forget or don't have a chance to start it early, the a/c picks up in a couple seconds. Really not even enough to whine and complain about.

I feel like the AC in the GS is no where near as cold as it is in my RX. That's what I've noticed, other then that no actual issues to report on.

Interesting. I feel just the opposite with our cars (2013 GS350 Lux and 2012 RX350). To us, the GS the airflow is quiet and really cold, and the RX is louder and doesn't feel as cold. The dealer measured the vent temps on the RX and said they were well within specs. They showed me the numbers (which I forget now) and had to agree. Go figure. But to the OP, a couple of seconds delay at startup is perfectly normal.

Allegedly the fan will operate at a low speed to get all the hot air out of the vents and allow a few seconds for the coils to get cold. I remember some older cars that didn't have this feature. If you cranked up the vent as soon as you go in, hot air would be blowing in your face.

I purchased the Carista coding tool/app yesterday and noticed this option for customization:

Fan speed reaches its target…
SLOWLY / NORMALLY / FAST

I set mine to FAST. Haven't noticed a big difference, but the wife seems happier.

Where are you in Texas? I am in McKinney and have six more days of the app before time runs out. We can use it to change your setting and give it a try.

One more tip. If S-Flow is lit, the fan won't blow as hard. Turn off S Flow and it'll blow your beard back.

I feel the same way with my '15 vs. my '11 GS350. My '11 would give you the shiver on the same setting as my '15. On a really hot summer day(90+ outside), it takes really long for my '15 to get to a comfortable temp. My '11 has no issue with hot days.
