Connected as per Lexus instructions. Don't worry about it.

I installed mine several weeks ago and love them. It's a very nice touch to open my driver door and see Lexus lit up! Now, I'm waiting on projectors to install.......that may take some getting use to.

Do the footwell lights go off when you shut the door?
The footwell lights dim when moving and brighten up when parked. The illuminated sills will to along with the ambient lighting in the door panels.

Sorry guys but I misstated this. It does wire into the footwell lamp which is actually part of the interior lamp circuit. When the door is closed and the key is off the lights will stay on until it reaches the door close timeout and then they will go off. There are a bunch of lamps that are on this circuit including the ambient lighting and door handle lights and all the footwell lights which are all driven off the FSPT circuit on the main body ECU.

Sorry if I caused any confusion. And please now that I corrected my error I don't want to get into a debate on which way is correct. I am merely stating what is on the interior illumination drawing for the '16 GS and how the lamps are connected in the sill lamp factory installation document. I should have caught my error sooner as I installed mine myself per factory specs.

Wasn't as easy as dallas dave says, only if you have experience with wires and all that. I thought I could do it myself because of his posts but no, I have no experience splicing wires and all that. Took to a local shop and got it done for a good price.

Thinking of buying a set of illuminated sills from a local Lexus dealer for about $240.00. Do these kits come with the wire taps and everything needed to do the job?

Interesting thread, thinking of doing this so thankful for the pics. Not 100% confident about the wiring though. Maybe it will make more sense when I have it in front of me?

I'm in the same boat. I want to HUD and this but maybe a sound system but the thought of wiring things myself is daunting.

The pics helped, a lot, but saying, "you just tie in and clamp off" means nothing to me without seeing it happen. Are there any good youtube vids showing this? I mean, I've replaced light fixtures and switches in my house, so I'm *fairly* confident I can do this......

Agreed, "just take the panel off" isn't going to cut it, lol. I need to "see" someone doing it. Then I would be all over this mod.
