@NickMayer I remember watching these vids which i thought was helpful to understand the overall process (i believe he's installing on a Lexus CT but the process is the same for the GS):

Here are the official installation instructions.
They're pretty good, but you do not need to use as many zip ties as they say.
You're just routing a pair of wires from the door sill to the LED that illuminates the front footwell.
