If we are talking practicality, I have never used synthetic in my 2000 Camry and changed the oil once a year. It still runs like a champ today with close to 200K miles, sold it to a friend. Brakes were flushed only after 100Kmiles when I needed new rotors and calipers.

Now as for purists, someone who owns $20K worth of tools, you bet your *** they won't wait until 100K miles. It's for the same reason I only use 24K gold Audioquest cables on my stereo but that's another debate. LOL
