brake pad thickness before changing

Sorry if I missed it on another thread, but wondering at what thickness it is recommended to change the brake pads. My fronts have ~5mm left on them. Thanks.

They should have an indicator. When it is time they should start making metal on metal screeching noise.

The brake pad wear indicator will start squealing when your brake pad has ~2.5 mm remaining. There is no need to replace them now (at 5mm remaining) unless you just want to get it behind you so you won't have to deal with it later.

Thanks bclexus, that's what I was looking for. I didn't want to get to the point of needing to address my rotors due to getting scored so I went ahead and changed the pads. I am using the Duralast Max pads. Nice simple pad swap.
