Default 2013 gs f non ML sound system issues

Need some help if any of you know what might be going on.

Non ML system shuts off if volume goes above 29.. really frustrating as I then need to shut car off to get the system to restart. Not sure if it is the factory amp or the head unit. Any ideas....

Just not trying to take it in to the dealer at this point

Thank you

Most likely amp. is shutting down to protect itself. Either heat issue or amp. chip or MOSFET is over heating for unknown reason at this point. Truning ign. on/off resets the protection circuit(which is relay or for some amps it is fuse).

Any idea if I should just incorporate an aftermarket amp and subs at this point. Factory pioneer amp used is 500 plus.

Nowadays it is hard to find a decent repair shop but worth at least checking out the amp. If I were you I'd take it apart myself and trouble-shoot. My back is EE, I have been
repairing things for neighbor's, friends, kid's jamming buddies for their vacuum tube guitar amps., TV sets, stereo unit, etc. for fun. Personally Pioneer is not my favorite. If you need to replace the amp. try something different. It could be as simple as heat sinking compound drying out on heat sink inside the unit. Good luck.
