Default Leaking F-Sport Shocks

So I recently found out one of the front shocks on my F-sport was leaking slightly. I took it in and they replaced it under warranty so that was good. In conversation with the lead technician, he said in 2013 there was a production run of F-Sport shocks with faulty seals which will have a very small, slow leak but not show any loss of road absorption. He said he has seen them come in from time to time and it is always just one shock per car.
If you have a 2013, check your front shocks for a very, very small amount of oil coming out from under the sheath cover.

When my 2013 F-Sport was about a year old, my independent mechanic reported that one of the front shocks was leaking. The dealer replaced it under warranty. I assumed I hit a pot hole.

Would this also affect 2013 non-Fsport models? Are the shocks the same between fsport and non-fsport?

The shocks are different between vehicles that can do 'Sport+' mode (adjustable damper suspension) and not. If your car can only go up to 'Sport' mode, then you do not have the same shocks as F-Sport models.

He did not mention non F-Sport shocks but that does not mean they are not affected also.

Cool. Glad it worked out for you. Mine was the front right as well. The service advisor said it is rare but when it happens, it always seems to be the right side.

2015 Fsport. My fronts both leak. Right side leaks so bad my wheel gallops past 70 mph.

Different engines in 200t/300/350 use the same suspension part numbers.

The non-F Sport use different shock absorber part numbers to the Luxury and F Sport trims.
However, the Luxury and F Sport trims use the exact same shock absorber part numbers.
Below is a chart showing the suspension part numbers for the Luxury and F Sport trims.

Below, the Luxury and F Sport trims use the same "software mapping" during Normal Mode, however, they have different software mapping during Sport+ Mode - to control the shock absorber valves.
