Tires
good evening all, I'm currently looking to replace some tires on my 20" wheels. Currently running 285/30/20 and lowered on tanabe spring. Has anyone gone wider tires than 285? Lmk thanks

whats up man, ok so when i was on tanabe springs i rubbed with 275/30/20 Probably because my rear offset is 37. I switched out to RS-R superdowns and a 285/25/20... all rubbing stopped but tire looked too skinny and bothered me a bit... so after much debate and measurement i went with a 295/25/20.. and of course rubbing came back..i expected that to happen after i saw the tire. So i had my fenders pulled slightly, all rubbing has stopped, love the ride and the handling capacity of the 295/25/20.. But against the advice of other forum members, who said 295 would be too wide and rub, i went ahead and did it anyway... my reasoning was that the 285/25 side wall was 2.81 inches and the 295 /side wall is 2.90 inches as a 285/30 sidewall is 3.37. At the end of the day, i am happy with the outcome, the look, the ride, and the handling....
I would say this if you arent experiencing any issues, stick with the tire size that you have. I will be sticking with the 295/25/20 because this is the first time I have my ride exactly the way I want it.... Just understand..if you choose to do a 295 you will have to do some type of fender modification.
