Set up front license plate for my GS. No effing way I was drilling holes in the bumper, so instead set up plate holder through grille (Ignore the dirty bumper, just came back from road trip and no time to get to car wash).
Nice They also sell a tow hook plate holder my buddy has on his GS.
Pulled off my pinnacle tints and got 20% huper optik all the way around. Such a difference and worth the money, especially in Houston. can't even feel the sun through the windows. I also like the mirrored look it gives.
Talked to shop foreman this morning. Super knowledgeable guy.
He said that this is "a thing" for this engine. Basically its piston slapping inside of the bore, all new v6 Lexus engines do that, however mine got out of hand.
He recently had identical issue with identical GS. So not I am getting complete new bottom end under warranty.
Looks like I wont see my sexy *** car for couple of weeks.
Another small mod today. Replaced remote touch ****, scratched/scuffed from dragging a vacuum hose across it. Since I was changing it out anyways, I opted for the newer version. Local dealers didn't have it, had to be shipped from Dallas...arrived today. Took all of 5 seconds to change out.

Look good! How easy to change it? mine got scratch as well and I want to change it. What part # is it? Thanks

Change your iphone cable out! Might not cause a problem now but you never know...
Yes, the original went bad at 18k. Making clanking sound in the head region of passenger side towards the back. Sounds like the valve doesn't close fast enough and it's getting hammered by the piston. Dropbox video
Hi Roman,
I'm curious about this because my engine sounds similar to what you showed in the video. Did you notice anything degrading or was it mainly just a noise that started it all? I was under the impression that was just the typical sound of lexus engines running a thin 5-20 oil.

If it's quiet clanking on start up/warm up, then its normal, if its loud enough to make you think engine will blow up, then it's a problem.
That is what I was told by Lexus shop foreman.

Ha! I noticed that was in the shot after I posted. They can build a $700 phone that does just about everything but can't keep any of their cords from fraying...
Ok so here's the DIY vid I put together for the front license plate install. Again, ignore the family of bugs that died valiantly on the road trip I took right before I did this.
Got my plastidip at 9:40 last night from UPS. I had my car prepped in the morning waiting for it, so I just did it late at night. Heres the result, I ordered the new Luxury Metal Plastidip which has metal flake in it. Turned out good, the key is to heat the cans up to have a better result. Has 1 coat of glossifier over it.
Got the ole girl cleaned up today and tried out Armor All's new Outlast Tire Glaze. It looks great about an hour after applying, hopefully it will last as long as they claim it will.
