Cut off my stock xpipe and resonators and replaced it with a 2.5" xpipe and 2.25" straight pipes.

It has a deeper tone now, louder and there's subtle burbling.

It's paired with a JoeZ axleback.

I'll try to get some video clips of how it sounds this weekend, but I can't seem to capture it correctly. It always sounds so muffled.

In for some sound clips, im waiting for the joe-z catback rwd to come back in stock, but if this sounds ok i might go this route. how's cruising speeds? keeping the cats also help for CA smog in case they do visuals..

It's pretty quiet when cruising. It can be a little brutal when accelerating, especially if it's within the 2k-3k range. However, above 3k, it sounds amazing.

Glad you were able to figure something out that works for you. The GS stock is too quiet, but with the right modifications, it purrs like a dream.

that sounds pretty damn good for what it is, would you say you're happy with it? Since i think you were also facing the dilemma of axeback which was a bit too quiet and full catback which might've been too loud..

In terms of loudness and tone, I'm satisfied with it. It is a little quieter than a full catback system. However, there's drone more than I'd like between the 2-3k rpm range, which I'm not sure if I can get past. Maybe I'll get used to it, maybe it'll drive me crazy, who knows. But for now, I'm just putting up with it.

Thanks for the insight, i'm still trying to figure out which route to take myself, i had a resonated catback on my old car and got used to it (08 TL-S).. but when i had a full car the drone was apparently worse than sitting by myself (probably due to weight and load), so yeah sucks for passengers sometimes going uphill etc.. lol but right now my bone stock GS is too quiet, and i know that going just axleback for me i will be yearning for more in the long run..
