@mkmckinley nice GS, congrats! I know for a fact the RSR coilovers are lighter than stock. Didn't weight them side-by-side, but I did held the stock front vs RSR front, clearly the RSR is lighter. Quality stuff, no regrets with them.

Thanks! I'm in Southern Pines (next to Pinehurst which is a little more well-known for golf)

That's actually really good to know. It seems like the places to save weight are the wheels/tires, brakes, and coilovers. I haven't weighed an OEM wheel/tire combo but I think I can safely get an aftermarket combo down to 42lbs. I estimate that would be around 16lbs less than OEM (again still haven't weighed the factor wheel/tire). I think you were the one that posted the two-piece F-Sport brake rotors at 4 lbs less than the one-piece. So that's 20lbs off each corner by itself alone without even touching the struts. The control arms are aluminum so my wild guess is that altogether I could get a 15% reduction in unsprung mass. I think this would result in increased performance and comfort without affecting reliability. One of the reasons I bought a GS is for the bulletproof drivetrain so I don't want to go adding forced induction or anything like that. Not to mention I think it's pretty impressive that the Lexus engineers were able to get 311hp out of a NA 3.5L V6!

Been there many times to play in some well-known golf tournaments on the Pinehurst #2 course, and played Pinehurst #5 and #8 too. I've also played MidPines Golf Club and stayed in the MidPines Inn, and played the Pine Needles course across the road as well as the nearby FoxFire Golf Club. Love the view of the MidPines Inn on the 18th hole and staying in one of the cabins on the property!

I appreciate the offer!

Can you still hear the artillery shells exploding in the Southern Pines/Pinehurst area from military exercises taking place all the way from Fort Bragg?

Yeah a few times a year. My mother in law was visiting once and thought it was thunder on a bright sunny day. I had to tell her she was listening to freedom!

Yeah, I remember that noise (sounded much like thunder).

AWD or RWD? Looks like Chateau Interior? Beautiful car.....

Default Bright and Shiny....for a few minutes at least

Picked her back up from the dealer this afternoon.....few things the dealer had to take care of as part of the purchase agreement.

I spent a week in a brand brand new RX350L as my loaner. I like the touch screen for the infotainment and maybe the trackpad remote touch for the info-tainment (still a little on the fence). Having the little cubby at the front of the console was nice too. I have to admit though - for it being a bigger/newer vehicle it sounded a bit more "hollow" in terms of the doors. The 8 speed had a couple spots at about 1200-1500 RPM when near a downshift there was some vibration like it was struggling a little - I think it was up in the higher gears but I couldn't ever pin it down exactly. I never could get the seat in a position where my legs/feet felt like they were in a good position and comfortable. I would have thought with being tall the SUV might have been a bit better for room and comfort but not really. I do have to admit - I wish the power trunk in the GS had the "kick" feature to make it open - that was really handy while I loaded the entire back end with toilet paper from Costco - look for me on eBay - only $1/sheet. <JK>

Seriously though....getting back in the GS drivers seat just felt good. And with some crazy rain we had today I think the older GS auto wipers work MUCH better than the new version on the RX.

OH...and I taught one of their tech Guru's something they didn't know! That each input (FM/Sat/etc..) has it's own saved sound settings. I wonder if that's why some folks don't think the ML sounds good?? They set up the sound on say satellite, then switch to USB or AUX and don't realize a previous owner has the settings all jacked up for that input. Seems to hold everything - treble, mid, bass, fade, and balance.
