How are these cf mudguards? Did they fit correctly?

Fitment is perfect - front pair hooked up to the OEM hardware and rear comes with 3M double sided tape. I ended up using the included self tapping screws as a precaution but I doubt they’d go anywhere with just 3M tape.

Quality of the weave is top notch and the design lines up really well with the body of the GS. I couldn’t pull the trigger on the bulky OEM mudguards so I went this route instead. He ceramic coated my guards with a marine grade solution so I have no doubt they’ll hold up very well.

This was the same scumbag(John Perez) that sold it to me few years ago, paid, gave every excuse in the book, filed a charge back. The credit company ruled the case in my favor.

My thread from 2018:

John will seem legit, but might go back to his old tricks, but if they start giving you excuses, open a paypal case.

I ended up getting the item eventually, but be forewarned about the seller.

Not the same vendor - I bought these in person in NY. These guards were made from scratch for me specifically for the GS350. The link I posted is for my local vendor who is doing this as a side hustle - I explained that there was a market for these.

I purchased guards / mirrors from John in the past and documented my many issues with him on the forum as well.

The Carbon Guards link you posted for the website/Instagram is the same name John Perez operated under, carries a lot of bad rep. They should consider a different name.

Now that I look back I remember your post about your experience with John. Did you end up getting your money back?

These are the ones I ended up getting from him eventually, same ones you got, I just drilled out the hole to install it for the front fender since it was originally made for the GSF. I ended up getting them for free since the credit card company decided it in my favor by the time I got it.

I did get my money after a chargeback. That was the worst vendor experience to date and I told the local vendor in NY about the entire scenario.

I had the GSF ones as well and gave them away to my co worker who had a GSF at the time. I was so turned off by the experience, I had no desire to make even the simplest modification. I showed my guy some pictures, left the car for an hour and picked up a set specifically for my GS350 the next day.

Thanks ! Yeah I did all that myself, took about 2-3 days per car ! Still too early to tell but I would rate them equally. Kamikaze def looks better with dark metallic colors.

22ple HPC was stupid easy to apply and give you a sharp hard shine.

I put my sound generator back on and drove like a hooligan in Sport S+ and manual mode with the sunroof and windows open. Did anyone realize how loud and aggressive this car sounds outside? Totally unexpected from this type of car but it does sound pretty good

You can hear what I mean in this video. The GS section starts around 3:57

JDR.. Nice! Tacomas are also well known to be among the most reliable in their class, and if I'm not mistaken there's a very active forum or two dedicated to tricking these out. You are going to have a lot of fun!
