That's about 3 years that I don't have to worry about. lol. The Cerakote kit is well worth the cost for any car.

Sanded down the face of my front calipers and repainted and applied new Black F Sport decals, when I originally did them 2 years ago I rushed it and the drivers side caliper was not dry enough so when I applied the decal the paint started lifting, it finally got to a stage where it was annoying the hell out of me. Also bought the Acura caliper covers and cut and sanded those and installed them.

After

Yeah I know its not a Lexus but also installed this nice Enon Android/Apple Car Play Touch screen unit in my sons Speed3, came with Dash cam and backup camera for $275

I always love the mazdaspeed 3. I'm trying to find one as a project car and to take my dogs around.

What if you paint the calipers black first, put the decals on, then paint the calipers orange, and peel the decals? I think it would be a better solution??? Or is the paint too thick?

TarmacSL3... really nice job on those projects! Did you apply a couple of layers of clear coat after applying the decals?

Also... looking to get a similar head unit for my daughter's 17 Civic... that's a clean install in the Mazda. Nice fitment.

Yes I applied like 3 coats of clear after I applied them, I had done the same with the previous decals but I think the issue was the base paint was not dry enough when I applied them so as I was taking off the backer on the decal the paint stated lifting at the same time so I had to half *** it a try to make it stick and then touched up the area using a brush. This time I let the calipers dry for like 4 days before I placed the decals. Time for you to get those Acura cover you got sitting in the garage on.. let me know if you need any tips on how I did them.

This is where my son bought the head unit https://www.eonon.com/Android-Car-GP...cific-GPS.html but it looks like they only have a unit for 2003-07 Accord.

The decals are vinyl that you place after painting, they are not the type your thinking where you paint the color you want to reveal place decal and then paint the secondary color like on custom cars.

Yeah its his work in progress. Next up is going Big Turbo which he started sourcing parts, first on the list of course was the Big Turbo Garrett GTX3071 with Surge porting. Right now the car has Cobb Access port, 3inch Intake, HPFP internals, cat-less 3in downpipe and full 3in exhaust and custom tune, dyno'd at 292 whp and 308lbft torque and hes looking to make 450whp don't know why cuz the thing is a beast as it stand now. But not my money or car..LOL

Put about 700 miles on a trip to NYC over the weekend. No issues with Conti DWS06s that I put on last month - performed beautifully.

I only bring this up because I have not driven this car at all due to COVID and unending telework... anyone else missing driving the car? lol
