Just installed the no squeel brake shimmy and pads(thank you to whomever created that thread on CL), i would say hands down this is the most happy i have been with the car, since i had been tolerating the akibonos. they squeel like crazy during slow speed braking. oh and installed some h&r studded spacers on the front, will do the back once they get here.

same, my front pad wear indicator started scraping my rotor so i found the new TSB pads for F sport and swapped them over the weekend... i never had squeal before (i am on stock 2pc rotor with oem pads) but i did have clicking noise. I think i'd rather have clicking than squeal though.. so i didnt go to dealer to get them swapped to the 1pc rotor as i read those start to make noise later.. so far so good (i only got 30K out of my front pads).

Yeah i did the same im still on stock 2 piece rotor, with the new tsb pads i dont hear any clicking or squeel on it. i bought a replacement rotor which is the 2 piece, i would recommend going to ebay to order one, dealer trying to charge me 500 a piece for it, found online 2 piece for 500 ! i checked while swapping the pads its still pretty good just a bit of lip, but the thickness still acceptable.

I just replaced the battery and I have to say what a pain the a$$ the side bracket is on the battery cover is. Like why, just why did they make a 5 or 10 minute job that annoying to do??? Lol

New tires: 245/45R-18 Sumitomo HTR A/S P03 XL - $570 delivered.
Lowered on Tanabes, there is no rubbing even w the slightly larger size.

The tires bulge a little more because they are slightly wider, offers great rim protection when parallel parking.
Very happy with the ride comfort, sacrificing some performance for cushion.
They are very quiet.

The tires themselves were very highly rated on tirerack reviews, decided to take a chance on them vs the Pilot Sports.

Happy 35th birthday to me. Had a blowout a few weeks ago figured it was a good excuse for new shoes. I wanted something to break up my black/white theme and I always loved the look of bronze/gold on white. Fitment is good, no rubbing as the tires seem to run skinny and i picked a skinny front tire but did end up with a slight 7-8mm poke on each wheel instead of being flush since I wanted a solid concave in the front too. Front tires are stretched a decent bit and rears have a very mild stretch. I wanted the Vossen CV3-R but they had a 2 month lead time AND they jacked up the price of that set, which would have sat flush. Even though they're 20s I feel like they look like 19s on account of the black lip, but I like it. Overall I'm pretty pleased with the look and stance.

Ferrada FR-3 (deep concave) bronze w/ gloss black lip
20X9 +25 (225/35/20 - I think a 235 will work so I'll up size next time around)
20X10.5 +38 (275/30/20)

that’s the same size I decided to go with. I went with Toyo Extensa HPII primarily because I really like the tread pattern, aggressive and directional. Zero rubbing and I’m on the RSR downs springs.

Swapped out the cabin air filter. The old one was in upside down.

Just means it clogs up faster and less airflow.

Lip job.
Driving home at 2am and have no idea what i ran over but tore off my front lip, still dont know what it was till this day.
Replaced it with carbon fiber Lexon rep and YES, that is the universal garage seal, ez lip, universal lip, etc - it does a great job protecting

Original lip

Busted lip

New lip

Default For 3rd gens not 4th... sorry

Sorry this was for 3rd gens not 4th, so wrong car section guys... Now it seems site dont allow us to delete posts. I copied to paste in 3rd gen section...just delete please!
=======
Sorry if its on this site I failed to during my search.
We're looking online at GS models for sale near us and on their front seat (backrests) they have what may be called a large decorative clasp on each side where the side/top leather panels meet, each front seat has one on both sides about 3/4 up?
We noticed some look chrome/silver while others are color blended to match the seats leather tan, black, grey etc.. Just why some are chrome/silver and others match the seats idk the reason why, but is it easy to swap this part out to a chrome/silver version without tearing your entire seat back apart to do so? Be nice if its a simple cover that snaps on/off so one can easily swap or paint them even? Is it easy to remove/change?
A 2007 GS350 she just found has the blended tan version. We just noticed its different on some cars, with it being such a nice touch idk why Lexus would ever blend them just to match the seat color instead of chroming them all so it stands out, they should be chrome imo? Why are some different, anyone know why?
Thanks

Hi 123go - Given that you mention a 2007 GS and from what I could find looking online at 3rd Gen GS and on my 4th Gen GS - I think the metal trim piece is specific to the 3rd Gen GS. I'd post or look over in that forum since its more likely someone over there would know - this is the 4th Gen (2013-2020) forum.

If I had to take a guess though, I would think that it was either something that changed with a mid-cycle refresh of the car or it's specific to a trim - like only the hybrid had chrome or only if you ordered the semi-aniline leather, etc....

Also - just a friendly tip - including a photo makes a world of difference.

(Maybe the @moderator can move your post over to the 3GS forum???)

Just got back from a successful 1,000 mile round trip with my new to me 2018 GS 350 F sport with ~20,000 miles on it.

Driving from Colorado to Nebraska and being at elevation and air that was a density altitude of 8,000 to 4,000 foot, I was pleased to see 28.8 MPG going 80mph on average.

Decided to wash it up good and spend about an hour doing bug cleanup on the front end this afternoon, and got her back in ship-shape.

Next up is an oil and filter change. I just changed the cabin filter before my trip.....

Shoot, I didn't realize I hit on 4th gen here. I started to hunt down a pic online but knowing how well people here know their cars I knew someone here would know exactly what I meant. I dont own the car yet so I cant snap a pic real easy or I would have for sure, Its 80 miles from me.
Ill head over to 3rd gens..thanks anyway!
