Powdercoated GS F calipers in a prismatic illusion pink powder and added a Supreme decal

To tack onto the couple of chrome delete posts...I ordered a 2016+ DRL smoke decal. I always though the "check" DRL on the 2016+ was too bright and this could be a good way to diffuse that light and blend the lens in better with the body (mine's Obsidian). I went with the lighter 35% option:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/17466037640...Cclp%3A2563228

Worth a shot but on that note, instead of blacking out the chrome completely, does anyone manufacture a light smoke kit to not so much delete the chrome but make it more of a dark chrome finish? I don't mind the chrome but I think a smoke overlay could look good to dampen the brightness a bit.

Please post some pics after you apply it... I like these easy low cost, low risk mods....

Nice to hear! Mine was an '02 XLE V6. I had it until last November when I got my GS350. It had approx. 306k/mi. and was still running strong. Great car and easy to work on. I will miss her.

Will do and agreed! I like anything I don't have to get under the car for and that I can piecemeal or do at my leisure without disabling the car.

Finally got mine out today, it's been sitting since November due to the crappy weather here in the rust belt.

Checked and corrected tire pressure, first time since replacing tires back in January. All were at 29-30 psi and the spare was at 45. Gotta remember to check the TPMS a bit more regularly.

All I did was open the hood to take a very satisfying look. Not bad for 7 years and 44,000 miles eh?

This attempt didn't go well. The pre-cut ones didn't have enough excess on the borders (in my opinion) so I had issues getting it to look good, I then burned some of the adhesive with my heat gun which caused some hazy spots. I then ordered a small roll of it with the goal of cutting out my own with extra material. It went on ok but there were creases and other imperfections that didn't come out with heat that weren't acceptable to me. I am very particular about anything aftermarket on the exterior and it just didn't improve the overall look when comparing to the glass smooth finish of the stock DRL. Granted I was looking at it from an inch away with a bright light but stock still looked better. I have worked with vinyl before with good results but never with a transparent film so it could just be my experience level.

On the other hand, I did find a successful easy, low-cost mod with a 3mm slip on wheel spacer for the rear wheels:

Amazon Amazon

With the 18x8 wheels I feel that they are sunken in a bit inwards and even the 3mm helped to provide a subtle advance toward being more flush with the fender. I plan to upsize the tires soon as well to complete the look. I do like the design of the stock 18x8 wheels and I was considering professionally widening them to 18x9 but considering the added weight and switching to a staggered setup, what I did was easy enough to get to a nice result. It may be a placebo effect but I swear that the extra 6mm of track width provided a sharper turn in feel.

It's a smoke tint for tail lights. It's on the outside of the lens. I put a little bit on the reverse chrome piece. and on the side mirrors to cover the chrome. you can see the tint on the right side tail. Look closely. Everything else is painted black.

Just detailed the outside. Used the Chemical Guys VRP for the first time on the tires. Pretty impressed but we'll see how it holds up.
