I was looking at the 2016+ bumper design and it looks like the lower grille goes all the way down and covers the actual painted bumper. This thing acts as a scrape guard I guess and can be replaced when it gets really bad instead of having the actual bumper repainted or replaced.

I know someone had to replace the lower grille and chrome trim before, how hard is it?

The bumper comes off in less than 30 minutes. Figure another 30 to get all the screws from the grill to take it out. The chrome is then secured with another 20 or so clips. I think it's no more than 2 to 2.5 hours to r&r those parts.

I did something very dangerous...I found an auto shop within walking distance from my office so that I can drop the car off and have work done without my wife knowing. Actually she doesn't care but it's easy when I don't need a ride or rental.

I had the front Swift springs installed today and going back tomorrow for the GSF +20 LCA bushings, alignment and brake fluid exchange. I typically would do some of those at home but it's too easy to pass up. I am super happy with the Swift springs. They feel 95% like stock and delivered the perfect drop and additional stiffness in turns.

Can we remove the grill without removing the bumper?

Man that grass looks so good. I've been trying to restore my lawn from years of neglect and still look like crap.

No, there are 20+ screws that need to come out, it's impossible, much quicker to remove the bumper than even experiment with that.

Thanks! This is the fun season for lawns in Florida when it grows 6 inches per week and it loves the heat and rain. My trick has always been to water twice per week at most to let the roots get deep and efficient. I am up and in the garage at 3-4am each day so I run the sprinklers manually so I don't hit my wife's car and I can control it better when it rains etc... I fertilize a couple times per year with standard stuff.

Uh, green grass requires a liquid substance that you are not allowed to have.

Only twice a week? For how long each time? I'm still a total noob when it comes to lawn care.

Do u guys get rain a lot? We got nothing here.

I do about 20 minutes per zone. This time of year it pours just about every day so I water even less. We are definitely in two completely climates so your more arid air may require something different. I see a neighbor manually hosing his lawn almost every day to prevent burning or dry spots but he must over water since I don't need to do that and I don't see any issues.

Rich green lawns are nice but there are a billion of them here and they all take up a lot of water resources and fertilizer. More natural or desert style "lawns" can look great with much less use of water and fertilizer. Its just hard to do a full transformation when you have a nice grass lawn!

@ItzFilyO - I could tell you were a noob at lawn care when your wife sent me a picture of you mowing dead grass in a dust storm wearing a diamond encrusted jumpsuit.

@DWCOILE Nice to see someone with a 2nd Gen GS430 and a 4th gen GS350 in the family - great cars. Always will have a soft spot for that GS430!
