They do it all the time when not 'on call'...and yes it certainly can be a dangerous circumstance. What should be installed (in my opinion) is - the inability to change a stoplight unless the emergency vehicle at the very least has its emergency lights flashing.

so will bald tires. Until they pop.

Default GS got a new look

Installed tanabe springs, akebono ceramic pads, stoptech drilled rotors all around, and now running my favorite OEM F sport forged 19x9 rims on 245/40R19 all around! I keep looking outside just to stare at the new setup

Nice! Where did you get the Stop Tech Rotors from and the Stop Tech Drilled Rotor/Akebono idea and the Tanabe springs from?

Installed iJDMTOY dual color LED fog lights. Really like how the housing is darker than OEM.

Yellow mode, switch off then back on to go white

zencarbonfiber.com it was $209 including shipping, but make sure you contact them first and ask for the cover for the GS, not listed on the website the RC/IS airbag looks similar but different.

Also it comes with an aftermarket Lexus logo, I swapped my original one onto the cover and use a solder iron on the back side to bond it permanently. The airbag cover itself is aftermarket, but exactly the same as oem comparing side to side on the backside of it.
Elvin Wong(different merchant)sells complete custom airbag with full oem airbag, no swapping covers with genuine logo for $450. Then you would just swap airbags and sell the original to recoup some of the cost.

Changed the rear brakes and hardware. Was way too easy. I have a set of rotors but don’t think I’ll do those till next time around

Put a deposit down on this 530e yesterday, not sure if I'm gonna go through with it. When I bought my GS last December, I intended for it to be a car I was gonna drive for the next 5-6 years. I've had the itch the last few months to just go ahead and upgrade to what I want long term.

Really what I want:
1. A PHEV - So I can stop buying gas and use electric on short trips
2. Standard CarPlay - Grom Sucks. Really I just want overall better tech.
3. Safety features - Pre Collision, Radar cruise

There's probably a lot more I'm missing.

What do you guys think? Damn, I didn't realize how stressful the car buying process was, I've had anxiety like the last 16 hours lmao

I'm leaning towards canceling the order and continuing to enjoy the GS for another year or so. The car is from SHIFT and I'd have to pay roughly $2000 to ship to TX from Oregon, which is non-refundable if I return the car within the 7 days. Reason I want this one through shift? It's one of only two Mediterranean Blue 530e's in the country for sale right now, in the exact spec I want, and low mileage.

Does anybody here know what's next after the GS for them? Our cars are discontinued. Or does everyone here just plan to take this car to the grave?

The grass might not be greener, even though I am kinda looking toward experiencing BMW ownership. Might just make some sense to get some use out of all the work I've done to the car (New Brakes, rotors, tires, etc). This car still puts a smile on my face everyday, and the induction noise of the 2GR is still music to my ears.

What am I doing today though? Changing the sunroof seal, no more rattle soon

Nothing wrong with trying something new, @greys0uled !

I'm thinking more and more of selling my GS. Kind of a hard thought, as I absolutely love it, but I truly don't drive it enough to justify the cost.

I don't even want to look at new cars, just don't want to deal with the buying experience and putting up with the games dealers are playing right now. Maybe next year when the market is overstocked with cars like pre-covid and more 10 grand off here and there again.

The cars that I looked at cost way more than the GS, plus the mark ups and it has less options than my GS. Just doesn't make any sense.

Yeah my GS is creaking here and there but it still drives like a dream!

I have a Tesla Model Y now. Not even slightly similar to the GS, couldn't be more different but I'm enjoying it a lot. No turning back here
