Last week I replaced the serpentine belt and idler pulley bearings. Today I took the clock out and glued the gear to the magnet. Hope it keeps time correctly now
Well, battery is acting a little weak again, even after sitting in the parking lot at work in the sun. Unplugged the dash cam when I got home and will start doing that in case it really is draining that much out of the battery overnight.
Who knows, the cheap Advance Auto brand battery they put in isn't really that great anyways but after just a few months and replacing the network gateway I'd hoped it'd be better than it is. Also checked that the alternator is putting out good (it can apparently throw out 45amps at just idle! ) So it's not like that's an issue. I guess chasing/checking connections should be next. I already set the dash cam to turn off at 12.2v since the battery sits at 12.3 after a drive. Only 13.3 charging while at idle though... which is low in spec per the TSB.
Meh. Maybe I can get a guy at work to 3D print me a battery tray for a larger battery.
Finally did my sunroof seal. I'm not the brightest mechanically, but I got it done in the end. It's like having a brand new car! The noises were getting pretty loud even in the ECO suspension mode.
Oil change on Saturday and that should be it for a while except for keeping her clean.
On her 10th Birthday I gave my daily driver a good interior/exterior detail. She needed a good color correction (many swirls and scratches) for the exterior. I think I'll keep her a little longer.
Got t-boned when someone skid through the intersection in the snow. 😩 Not sure if enough to total, airbags did not go off. If anyone has advice on dealing with this with insurance and repair shops, let me know.
Oh shit . Get a bunch of quotes, and find the most reputable shop you can. Don't just settle for the first shop you go to. Just goes to show you can be the best driver in the world, but it's the other drivers you have to worry about.
Glad you didn't get hurt!
You will need to see what there adjuster says.
Get a few estimates to see how close the repair is to the value of the car.
If it's close, and you want the car totaled, let your insurance company know.
This happened to me years back, when I had a Prelude SI. They gave me a nice check that went towards a brand new car.
My car was mint, but had 180K miles on it and the check was for more than I would have gotten in trade in or private sale.

Don't worry about the initial quotes. Until it gets to repair those quotes could be as little as 30% of the total actual cost to repair when torn down in a body shop. I would look up under, and inside and make sure the Insurance adjuster writes as much as possible on the initial estimate.
If you have 2 Lexus Dealer body shops near you I would review reviews on both. If was my car would only take it to a Lexus Dealer repair facility to have repaired if it not deemed totaled.
